I am a Michigan-based photographer whose perspective is largely shaped by time spent outdoors—hiking, backcountry camping, and exploring remote landscapes. Over the years, floating between commercial assignments and quiet environmental documentation, I lean into a style of photography that favors observation over orchestration.

My approach is highly mobile, relying on minimal gear rather than heavy lighting rigs or tightly controlled sets. This style requires acceptance that you are giving up total environmental control, but traveling light removes the barrier between the camera and the subject. It allows me to stay agile and capture things candidly as they happen, as opposed to curating my output through staging and editing.

The real world is not perfect, and I prefer to capture those natural contradictions and highlight the beauty found in what media might call flaws. Throughout the day we experience the sunlight obscuring our vision, and shadows that fall a bit unevenly. Capturing those visual imperfections helps to relay how a moment actually felt, and I find they help us recall the true feeling of a moment later

Whether documenting a product or a landscape, I let the existing environment dictate the image. It is a straightforward, documentary style meant to keep the final results feeling authentic and grounded.
